Backstory: Events during the Fourth World Fighting Tournament

An assasin by trade, Hinogami was trained from a very young age by Judgement6 for one, and only one, specific goal: to hunt down and eliminate anyone who dared to stand in their way.

His involvement began when he was sent during the latter proceedings of the Fourth World Fighting Tournament to defeat the Byrant siblings, Jacky and Sarah, who were dangerously close to unveiling the truth behind J6.

His mission: to fight in the guise of a participant, with the hidden motive of murdering them during the actual combat, and pass it off as an 'accident'.

Before that plan came to execution, however, Goh had met his match in the form of Akira Yuki, a stalwart and long-time fighter in the tournament.

As the two exhanged blows against one another, Goh seemingly had the upper hand at one point, and was about to finish Akira off. However, displaying a rare moment of mercy, Goh allowed the critically-injured Akira to walk away, alive.

Barely surviving himself, Goh sneered "Interesting fight... we will finish this another day."

Upon learning this unexpected turn of events, J6 was furious. They branded Goh a traitor, and immediately sent assasins after him.

Seeking refuge, Goh escaped to the one safe place that he alone knows... the broken-down Dojo in which he and his late father, Goro Hinogami, a world-reknowned Judoka and Olympic champion, trained together when he was but still a child.

Eventually, via an insider in J6, he came to learn the truth. His father's death was no accident. It was murder, at the very hands of the organisation he had served for so many years!

Stunned at the irony of how his mission were set up exactly the same way that cost his father's life, Goh swears to exact vengeance on J6, to be paid in blood.

Returning to headquarters, he boldly reports his failure in the previous mission, and promises to make up for it in the Fifth World Fighting tournament, else he would surrender his life to them.

The scheming J6 decides to temporarily let matters slide, as they have a new objective in the upcoming tournament. Cancelling all kill-orders, they gave Goh a second chance...

A wry, but barely noticable grin appears on Goh's scarred lips...

. : . : . : .

...but little did he know, that he is not the only one with ulterior motives on their mind.

And thus, the story of the Fifth World Fighting Tournament begins.
